Region’s AUIEC approves 2024 plan, eyes expansion

Mubasher: The board of the Arab Union for International Exhibitions & Conferences (AUIEC) has approved its budget and action plan for 2024, according to a press release.

AUIEC operates under the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States and is chaired by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, who is also the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah.

The 2024 plan tackles different strategic goals and objectives that aim to enhance the influence and effectiveness of AUIEC in the exhibition sector.

In addition, it primarily focuses on attracting new memberships to expand its network and active participation in the union members' activities and events. This aims to foster a sense of community and collaboration within the union.

The regional union further intends to hold specialised training courses for industry professionals to recognise the importance of skill development in the exhibition sector in the Arab world.

In 2024, there will be events supporting national economies and promoting trade and investment opportunities.

AUIEC is expected to organise events like the Arab Industries Exhibition in the UAE as well as Iraq. This is in addition to planning the Conference of the Exhibition Industry in the Arab World.
