Talal Salman joins partner team of Oliver Wyman



Oliver Wyman has boosted its Government and Public Institutions practice in the Middle East with Talal Salman, who joins from a tier-one rival. Drawing on more than 17 years of experience in finance and macroeconomics, Salman advises governments on devising public policies to enhance efficiency and drive economic growth. He is particularly adept at the establishment of government authorities and guiding clients through complex structural reforms. Based in Dubai, he will advise Oliver Wyman’s public and semi-public clients on topics including economic development, public policy, public finance reform, and giga-project development. Commenting on his role, Salman said: “The transformation of hydrocarbon-based economies into more productive and diversified economies is an exciting opportunity, but it does require the necessary policy-making environment to enable businesses and investors to operate.” Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Salman gained experience in strategy consulting at Strategy&, where he spent five years across two spells, and in investment banking, having worked for Citigroup and Morgan Stanley. Salmans served as an Economic Advisor to the Lebanon’s Ministry of Finance for over six years, providing much-needed advice on fiscal management and reform, debt management, and economic development, among others.
