UAE: UAE insurance company to pay Dh2 mn to family of man run over by school bus – Gulf Digital News
The Dubai Civil Court of Appeal has ordered an insurance company to pay Dh2 million as compensation to the family of a man run over by a school bus.
In a complaint that was filed against the company with the Insurance Authority, the mother, wife, and son of the deceased asked for a compensation of over Dh2 million, explaining that the deceased was the breadwinner of the family.
The authority ruled in favour of the family, a decision that was upheld by the Court of First Instance, Khaleej Times reported.
An appeal was launched by the insurance company to the Dubai Civil Court of Appeal, indicating that it had submitted a defence to the Insurance Disputes Settlement Committee to reject the family's request.
The court rejected the appeal and has ordered the company to pay the amount to the family of the victim.
