Health Minister launches breastfeeding campaign at the Avenues – Bahrain

A national campaign aimed at promoting breastfeeding has been launched at the Avenues – Bahrain. Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hasan patronized the drive, being held under the theme “Breastfeeding is the foundation of life”. The launch of the campaign coincides with the World Breastfeeding Week; which is held this year under the slogan “Let’s promote breastfeeding, educate and support”. Dr. Hasan stressed the ministry’s keenness to organize a series of campaigns aimed at raising societal awareness about various health issues and providing the opportunity to directly exchange information and acquire skills. She highlighted efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles and establish an environment that promotes safe practices, which contributes to improving the health of the population in Bahrain in line with the 2030 Bahrain Economic Vision. The campaign includes a platform that features a number of specialists and experts in the nutrition of infants and young children from various health institutions and authorities. These include the Ministry of Health, government hospitals, primary health care centers, Bahrain Defense Force Hospital, and King Hamad University Hospital, in addition to volunteer doctors from the Amal Cloud team and students from the University of Bahrain.
