World Diabetes Day Conference

World Diabetes Day Conference was launched in its 2nd edition under the patronage of the President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) and Bahrain Diabetes Society President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The conference, organized by the Health Ministry and NovoNordisk, coincides with the World Diabetes Day under the theme “Access to Diabetes care, if not now, when?” launched by the International Diabetes Federation.

The president noted that the conference highlights the importance of raising awareness of diabetes.

It also focuses on ensuring the prevention of diabetes and providing appropriate treatment to avoid its complications, which must be facilitated and accessible to all diabetics.

Dr. Shaikh Mohammed said that the health sector in Bahrain is fully supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He said that the support of the leadership contributes to providing comprehensive and integrated health services in the Kingdom, especially the treatment of diabetic patients.
