Sisi Confident Egypt Will Overcome Repercussions of Ukraine, COVID Crises

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said on Thursday he was confident that his country will overcome the current Ukraine and COVID-19 crises and their repercussions, stressing that the forces of evil continue to seek his homeland’s destruction.

Sisi was speaking on the anniversary of the June 30th Revolution, which marks the crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood that Egyptian authorities consider a terrorist organization.

The President said the majority of Egyptians are now facing two of the most difficult and harsh global crises, namely the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

“The magnitude of the damage that affected the biggest economies is no secret, causing disruption of global supply chains. This is in addition to the war and the associated unprecedented food crisis, in terms of stocks and prices,” Sisi stressed.

He said if it were not for the National Program for Economic Reform, which has been implemented successfully and accurately since 2016, and the development efforts achieved in the past years, confronting the repercussions of the current international situation would have been extremely difficult.
