Syed Shayaan Bakht, Staff Reporter The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has been urging UAE residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine shots to curb the spread of the virus in the country. Authorities have launched a national campaign to encourage people, especially the elderly, and those with chronic diseases to come forward for the vaccination drive. The ministry has elaborate plans to vaccinate more than 50 per cent of the country's population against COVID-19 by the end of the first quarter. Even the UAE leaders, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, urged members of the public to take the vaccine shots for a healthy society.
