Number of COVID-19 infections among students is ‘increasing’: Education Ministry – Roya News English

The Parliamentary Education and Youth Committee discussed, during a meeting held Sunday, headed by MP Bilal Al-Momani, the Ministry of Education’s decision in amending the school calendar for the academic year 2022/2021.

Momani called on the ministry to reconsider the decision, in a manner that preserves the interest of students and the educational process as a whole, warning that the decision to reduce the academic calendar period for the first semester from Jan. 7, 2022 to Dec. 7, 2021 will negatively affect the students’ academic performance.

The meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Wajeh Awais, and the Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs in the ministry, Najwa Qubailat.
