Jaber Hospital performs rare operation

KUWAIT: Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital on Thursday announced the use of free tissue implants for the first time in Kuwait by merging breast reconstruction operations without the use of silicone. Plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr Heba Al-Khashnam said in a press release that this surgery is for women who suffer from breast cancer and sagging due to obesity, through which they can restore the shape of the breast, noting that its success rate reached 95 percent.

Head of the hospital’s surgery department, Dr Sulaiman Al-Mazyed said that the hospital aims to provide the latest surgical procedures, adding that they also hold the largest surgery department with its various specialties in Kuwait. He also added that the hospital exchanges experience with international medical doctors, stressing that the ministry of health aims to provide the hospital with everything new in the world of modern medicine, to serve the citizen. – KUNA
