Al Buraimi Healthy City included on WHO’s sustainability list

Muscat: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has listed Al Buraimi Healthy City in sustainable cities in Eastern Mediterranean Region.

The Office of Wali of Al Buraimi and the Ministry of Health (MOH) celebrated today the recognition of Al Buraimi Healthy City in the list of sustainable healthy cities in the Eastern Mediterranean Region by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The celebration took place at Al Salam Grand Resort in Al-Buraimi under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Hilal Ali Al-Sabti, Ministry of Health. The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al-Busaidi, Governor of Al-Buraimi along with Dr. Jean Jabbour, WHO Representative to the Sultanate of Oman, several Walis and members of Shura Council, and senior officials of the Ministry.

Sheikh Dr. Faisal Saleh Al-Maskari, Deputy Wali of Buraimi, pointed out that the phases of the official signing of Buraimi Healthy City since 2020 went through many stations to achieve the national targets and implement the concept of “Health for All”.

In this regard, Dr. Majed Rashid Al-Maqbali, Director General of Health Services in Al Buraimi Governorate, stressed that Al Buraimi has successfully implemented 80 criteria in line with international standards. As a result, Al Buraimi has implemented community initiatives in various fields over
