Oman begins scouts and guides programme for promotion of health, character building

Oman’s Ministry of Education has embarked on a national programme for the scouts and guides to explore the country’s various locations, while undertaking activities for physical fitness and character buildingMuscat – Oman’s Ministry of Education has embarked on a national programme for the scouts and guides to explore the country’s various locations, while undertaking activities for physical fitness and character building.

As part of this mission, the General Directorate of Scouts and Guides under the ministry executed ‘Summit Path Programme’ from December 14 to 16 taking young children to explore the majestic Jebel Shams peak. 

“This programme was attended by 19 students from 7th to 11th grade, under the supervision of nine qualified leaders, in a visionary educational approach to develop physical fitness and life skills,” Ali Mohammed al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Media at the General Directorate of Scouts and Guides, told Muscat Daily.

Maamari explained that the programme – part of the directorate’s initiatives to develop the skills of scouts and guides – leverages the expertise of the Internet and Radio Communications Team.
