This rare condition weakens the aorta, the body’s main artery, and risks a fatal rupture.A specialized medical team at the Royal Hospital performed the life-saving operation; the team, led by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hajri and Dr. Tamer Sayed Fouad, successfully conducted a catheterization procedure and implanted special stents within just 30 minutes.Thoracic aortic aneurysm is a rare and potentially fatal condition, making the success of this operation particularly noteworthy. Complications of a thoracic aortic aneurysm include rupture of the aorta or a life-threatening tear between the layers of the aorta’s wall.
