WHO announces selection of two public health labs in Oman for collaboration | Times of Oman

Muscat: The World Health Organization has announced the selection of the Central Public Health Laboratories in the Sultanate of Oman as a collaborating centre in the field of emerging infectious diseases. Dr. Amina bint Khalfan Al Jardani, Director of the Central Public Health Laboratories Department at the Ministry of Health, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency and Oman TV: "The selection of the central public health laboratories in the Sultanate of Oman represents an important achievement for the Sultanate." The centre will serve the eastern Mediterranean region and will have a global role within the internationally accredited and cooperating centres. Noting that the centre will support the region and some countries around the world in addressing emerging and emerging epidemics, as well as in the field of training and capacity building.
