Daily average of Covid-19 cases in Qatar drops further to 533

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reported, in its weekly Covid-19 report for the August 22-28 period, a daily average of 533 cases - 488 in the community and 45 among travellers.

This marked a continued decrease in Covid-19 cases over the previous weeks.

The MoPH had recorded 611, 716, 787, 883 and 1,014 cases in the previous weeks, respectively.

Following are the highlights of the weekly report published by the ministry for the August 22-28 period:

* Covid-19 cases

- Daily average cases in community: 488

- Daily average cases among travellers: 45

- Total number of current active cases: 4,207

- Total number of infected people since the start of the pandemic: 428,147

* Recoveries

- Daily average of recoveries for the last seven days: 624

- Total number of recoveries until now: 423,259

* Deaths

- Number of deaths in the last seven days: 0

- Total number of deaths until now: 681

* Vaccination

- Daily average of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the last seven days: 3,380

- Total number of booster doses administered to date: 1,856,017

- Total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered since the start of vaccination campaign: 7,391,065

* Covid-19 testing

- Daily average number of tests for the last seven days: 16,015
