Masks needed in health facilities only from Sunday: Cabinet

People in Qatar will be required to wear masks in health facilities only from October 23, according to a new Cabinet decision.

This came at the Cabinet's regular meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday afternoon, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Following the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Sulaiti issued a statement giving the details of the proceedings.

The Cabinet reviewed the report prepared by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) regarding the latest developments related to Covid-19 and took the following decisions:

1. Amending the Cabinet's decision issued in its regular meeting No. 31 for 2022, which had convened on August 31, regarding the wearing of facemasks to be as follows; citizens, residents and visitors are obliged to wear facemasks while visiting health facilities only. The decision stating that all employees and workers whose jobs require them to be in closed offices and communicate with clients must wear facemasks during their work hours remains active.

2. This decision will come into effect as of Sunday, October 23.

With this decision, people are no longer required to wear
