The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported today 394 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and recorded 598 recoveries from the virus bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 349,042.

In a statement, the MoPH said that 309 of the new confirmed cases are among community and 85 among travelers.

The MoPH reported that 6,241,774 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination program, adding that 18,929 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours. The ministry added that 1,161,471 Covid-19 booster vaccine doses have been administered to date. It explained that 87.8 percent of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses.

In a statement, the MOPH noted that there is clear evidence of the protective effects of the vaccines and the majority of patients being admitted to ICU with Covid-19 are either unvaccinated or had their second dose more than 6 months ago and have not received a booster dose.

It also noted that the latest evidence shows that the country has passed the peak of the third wave of the pandemic,
