MoPH reports 85 new Covid-19 cases, 81 recoveries Saturday

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported today 85 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and recorded 81 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 358,870.

In a statement, the MoPH said that 82 of the new confirmed cases are among community and three cases among travelers. It pointed out that that 6,595,692 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination program, adding that 1310 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours. The ministry further added that 1,425,202 Covid-19 booster vaccine doses have been administered to date, explaining that 88.7 percent of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses.

In its statement, the MoPH explained that there is clear evidence of the protective effects of the vaccines and the majority of patients being admitted to ICU with Covid-19 are either unvaccinated or had their second dose more than 6 months ago and have not received a booster dose.
