MoPH reports 98 new cases and 362,674 total Covid-19 recoveries



The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Sunday reported 98 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, and 106 recoveries from the virus, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 362,674.

In a statement, MoPH said 96 of the new confirmed cases were in the community and two cases among travellers. It pointed out that 6,737,832 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination programme, adding that 1,142 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.

The ministry further said 1,521,536 Covid-19 booster vaccine doses have been administered till date, with 89.1% of the total population now fully vaccinated with two doses.

In its statement, the MoPH explained that there is clear evidence of the protective effects of the vaccines, with the majority of patients being admitted to ICU with Covid-19 being either unvaccinated or had their second dose more than six months ago and had not received a booster dose.
