Qatar first country outside US to receive public health accreditation board award

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in Qatar has been awarded the national accreditation status of the US Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), making Qatar the first country to receive such accreditation outside the US. HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari recently received the certificate of accreditation of public health services in Qatar from PHAB president and CEO Paul Kuehnert in the presence of several officials from the Ministry of Public Health, Primary Health Care Corporation, Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar University.

This recognition is based on international high-quality standards meeting strict criteria for the public health practice provided according to the international level.

The accreditation of public health services in Qatar comes a few weeks ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, marking the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup that a tournament is held in a country that has received international accreditation for its public health services. Dr al-Kuwari stressed that the PHAB international accreditation of public health services in Qatar for five years comes as the culmination of the efforts and commitment of the MoPH and its partners towards the implementation of various public health services that
