Abu Dhabi expands ‘green list’ of countries that do not require quarantine

Passengers arriving from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi will no longer be required to quarantine for 10 days.

Abu Dhabi has expanded its list of 'green' countries, from where incoming travellers do not require to quarantine.

The total number of countries, regions and territories on the list has now increased to 18, according to the latest update by Abu Dhabi's tourism authority on January 16.

Along with Bahrain, other Gulf countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait have also been added to the original list.

The full list of 'green' countries, regions and territories now includes:

Hong Kong (SAR)

Isle of Man

Kuwait

Macao (SAR)

Mauritius

Mongolia

New Caledonia

New Zealand

Oman

Qatar

Sao Tome and Principe

Saudi Arabia

St. Kitts and Nevis

Thailand

The authority confirmed that the list is subject to change based on global Covid-19 developments.

Abu Dhabi reopened to international tourists on December 24, 2020. All visitors must present a negative PCR test result and take a second PCR test upon entering the capital.

On Sunday, the emirate announced that those arriving from 'green' countries must take a PCR test on arrival and on day six, without the need to quarantine.
