Egypt President inaugurates wastewater treatment plant – MEP MiddleEast
The President of Egypt, HE Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has inaugurated the record-breaking Bahr Al-Baqar wastewater treatment plant project, on which international multi-disciplinary design consultancy Khatib & Alami (K&A) was involved.
The Bahr Al-Baqar wastewater treatment plant is the largest-of-its-kind in the world with a production capacity of 5.6 million cubic meters of water per day.
As part of the Sinai Peninsula Development Plan, this plant will assist the Egypt government in resolving water resource shortages and filling the current gap, expected to be 20 billion cubic feet of water per year, K&A confirmed in a LinkedIn post.
