First Ain Short Film Festival activities kicks off in Oman

Muscat: The five-day activities of the first Ain Short Film Festival, organised by the Ministry of Information kicked off on Wednesday under the patronage of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat.

Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information said that organising the first edition of the festival is aimed to achieve many goals in the field of film industry.

It will mainly be showcasing the skills of the participants in various aspects of film industry, enriching Ain Platform with short films and contribution in introducing a meaningful media content and exchange of

expertise among the participants through the activities accompanying the festival including the workshops and a specialised seminars among other activities.

The winning films in the festival will get an opportunity to be screened through Ain Platform, he added.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Information had earlier honoured several personalities who made considerable contributions in the field of film industry from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
