QU holds e-conference on chemicals, materials for emergent technologies – The Peninsula

Doha: The Centre for Advanced Materials (CAM) at Qatar University (QU) organised an online conference titled ‘Second International Conference on Chemicals & Materials for Emergent Technologies: Sustainability Development Goals Edition 2022’, in collaboration with Unesco, Qatar, Emergent Materials (EMMA) Journal, and Chemistry Africa (CHAF) Journal.

Salah Khaled, Director, Unesco Office for Gulf States and Yemen, and Prof Mariam Al Maadeed, Vice-President for Research and Graduate Studies, had launched the e-conference, while Dr. Mohamad Irshidat, Director of CAM, had shared views towards the Sustainability Development Goals, along with Dr. Mohamad Chehimi, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry Africa and Néhémie KOMAIN, CEO at NKAD Printers.

The 2022 edition of the conference took place on October 17 on the online portal based on Sustainability Development Goals (SDG). It is aimed to bring the academicians, industrialists, researchers and students into a common platform where they can exchange their ideas and interact with their peers towards the development of Chemicals & Materials for Sustainability Development Goals.

This e-conference was well-defined on five major sustainable development goals: Climate Change, Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, Affordable and Clean Energy, Clean Water & Sanitation, and Good Health & Well-being.
