Mawani emerges as a competitive force by localizing maritime industries and boosting investments

Riyadh: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) is playing a major role in bolstering the competitive position of the local maritime sector at the regional and global level while lending its weight to the nation’s diversification drive by creating investment opportunities, promoting maritime industries, and localizing manufacturing capabilities.

These efforts are part of Mawani’s initiatives to accelerate the journey of disruption and digitalization in the maritime and logistics sectors through a series of growth catalysts, which include over 160 projects, in the pursuit of transforming Saudi ports into a beacon of trade and innovation, establishing a booming and sustainable maritime sector, and cementing the Kingdom’s stature as a global logistics hub that connects three major continents in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS).

In this regard, Mawani has announced the groundbreaking of new 400,000 sq. m. fabrication yards at Ras Al Khair Port to fabricate and assemble offshore platforms and structures in the Kingdom as it aspires to position the port as a national industrial hub on the Arabian Gulf coast and a global center of excellence in maritime manufacturing.
