RigQuip, Zamil to set up drilling equipment plant in Saudi Arabia

Global drilling equipment service group RigQuip Drilling Services has signed an agreement with Zamil Shipyards to set up its drilling equipment service facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

 

Launched in 2006, RigQuip is a privately owned business, which specialises in drilling equipment, engineering, service and parts, and has a global presence with operations in the UK, UAE, Singapore, US and Mexico. 

 

Zamil is a leading shipyard in Saudi Arabia that services both the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea regions, offering full maintenance, repair and operation shipyard services. 

 

This collaboration will offer both companies' clients drilling equipment inspection and service, combined with berthing and full maintenance, repair, and operating shipyard services, said a statement from RigQuip Drilling Services.

 

The partnership, a first-of-its-kind in the kingdom, will see RigQuip's API Q2 certified drilling equipment service team establish a workshop base at Zamil's Dammam shipyard and quayside facility, providing inspection and service of complete drilling packages and equipment, including top drives, drawworks, mud pumps, iron roughnecks, pipe handling equipment and pressure control equipment, it added.
