Tawazun Industrial Park announces production of the first Emirati ammunition box ‘Kinana’

ABU DHABI, 22nd February, 2023 (WAM) --Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP), the industrial development arm of Tawazun Council, announced production of the first Emirati ammunition box "Kinana", which is made of fully recyclable local materials.

Kinana Peta version was unveiled at Tawazun Council's Chalet at IDEX 2023 in Abu Dhabi. The new product has several essential benefits, including a weight reduction of more than 68% when compared to traditional steel boxes, and built-in RFID Tag for tracking and control, and it was manufactured from local materials provided by Borouge within its distinct range of solutions that are used in the innovative advanced packaging sector.

Faiz Saleh Al Nahdi, Managing Director and CEO of TIP, stated, "Kinana project aligns with Tawazun Council's future plans to support the UAE's defense supply chains with innovative solutions. The project also seeks to enhance local content by manufacturing products made entirely in the country, in line with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology's initiative 'Make it in the Emirates,' which aims to boost Emirati industries and manufacturing and support national companies."
