Man fined Dh300,000 for impersonating security officer in UAE

Ismail Sebugwaawo /Abu Dhabi. An Emirati man who disguised as a senior officer at a security agency - so he could give out some orders - has had his five-year-jail sentence reduced to two on appeal.. The man went to a hospital in Abu Dhabi while wearing a uniform with a higher rank than his, according to court records.. He showed the security a image of a forged work card, which had his photo, name and fake designation.. Upon seeing the card on his phone, the hospital's security personnel allowed him to make important decisions inside the hospital, believing that he had the authority to do so.. Investigations later revealed that the Emirati had worn fake ranks and forged the documents for impersonation.. The Abu Dhai Appellant Court upheld an earlier ruling by the lower court, which found him guilty of forgery and impersonation.. The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced him to five years in jail and ordered that he pay a fine of Dh300,000.. The defendant challenged the ruling at the appellant court, which has maintained the earlier verdict but reduced the jail sentence.. ERROR: Macro /ads/dfp-ad-article-new is missing!. The warning has
