New commercial sub-activity in renewable energy engineering

Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) President Dr. Abdulhussain Bin Ali Mirza said that cooperation between the Sustainable Energy Authority with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Economic Development Board, and the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions has resulted in the creation of a new commercial sub-activity in renewable energy engineering.



It is part of efforts to encourage investment in renewable energy projects and to promote the renewable energy sector in Bahrain, he said.



Dr. Mirza commended the efforts made by all the competent authorities to create a sub-activity for renewable energy engineering, as the members of the joint working team researched the reasons for creating the activity and accelerated its activation on the electronic platform.



Such positive steps are of great importance in encouraging renewable energy investments and projects in the Kingdom and reflect the government's keenness on supporting and achieving energy sustainability goals and in particular the goals of renewable energy.



Bahrain has set to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the national energy mix by 5% by 2025 and 10% by 2035.
