Climate awareness camp by Youth Love Egypt in Wadi Degla – Egypt Today

CAIRO - 7 May 2024: The Youth Love Egypt Foundation organized a two-day camp inside the Wadi Degla Reserve for children aged 8 to 16, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, which welcomed the camp's establishment and waived camping fees for the foundation.

 

Thirty-five boys and girls participated in the camp, assisted by 25 volunteers and members of the foundation, who organized various interactive activities for the children to raise environmental awareness and discuss climate change.

Upon arrival at the reserve, the children were given a guided tour by the volunteer team to familiarize themselves with the surroundings, followed by mountain climbing and photography sessions. The camp also included interactive activities, games, and discussions on environmental importance and conservation.

 

The camp was attended by MP Nader Moustafa, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism and Culture Committee of the House of Representatives, Shaimaa Abdel-Elah, a member of the National Press Authority, and the esteemed journalist Khairiya Shaalan.

 

Ahmed Fathi, President of the Youth Love Egypt Foundation, expressed his delight at the collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, which provided all necessary facilities within the reserve, acknowledging the ministry's recognition of the foundation's role in environmental and climate awareness issues.
