Egypt, Djibouti hold talks on potential partnerships in electricity sector – Egypt Today

CAIRO – 29 August 2022: Minister of Electricity and Renewable Resources Mohamed Shaker met Monday with Djibouti Energy Minister Yonis Ali Guedi to hold talks on potential partnerships in the sector. In a different context, the Food Export Council (FEC) indicated that the sector's exports to Dijibouti amounted to $4.51 million during the first five months of 2022. The FEC said that the main food products exported from Egypt to Djibouti in the period from January to May were processed cheese ($308,318), tea ($287,002), sugar ($261,025), oil except of olive oil ($208,116). President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh was received in February by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in Cairo after the latter had paid a visit to Djibouti in May, which was the first by an Egyptian chief of state to the fellow African state. Guelleh described in the joint press conference with Sisi in Cairo that as "fruitful and constructive." The Djibouti president also reiterated that the two sides are keen on continuing their consultations and cooperation regarding a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
