Egypt’s gas exports, renewable energy output leap in 2019 – Report

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's natural gas exports jumped to 4.5 billion cubic metres in 2019, compared to 2 billion in 2018, data released by BP showed.The country exported a total of 1.7 billion cubic metres to Europe and 2.7 billion to Asia and South Pacific countries, headed by Pakistan which received 900 million cubic metres, according to the Statistical Review of World Energy report issued by the British oil and gas company.Total gas output grew to 64.9 billion cubic metres last year, hitting its highest level in over a decade, compared to 58.6 billion in 2018.As for the renewable power generation, Egypt increased its production by 82.7% year-on-year (YoY) to 6.5 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2019, registering a hike above the average growth rate of 14.3% over the last 10
