Sisi: Discoveries of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum ease the gas crisis in Europe

NNA - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced that the discoveries of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum play a role in mitigating the effects of the crisis and the demand for gas for Europe during the next stage, according to "Russia Today" news agency.

 

Sisi said in his speech during a dialogue session on the importance of cooperation in the field of energy and climate change within the activities of the opening of the Egyptian International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference "EGYPS 2023": "The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum and the effort that we are making with research and exploration companies will remain the decisive element."

He added: "The forum works in turn to mitigate the effects of the crisis and the demand for gas for Europe during the next stage, and all discoveries, whether in Egypt or Lebanon, or any other country, and this gas reaches Europe, will reduce the volume of demand resulting from the Russian-Ukrainian crisis."
