Meet The Forbes Under 30 Leading The Green Energy Transition

In the past year, during the pandemic, Endera Motors has built and delivered 43 electric vehicles, including more than a dozen shuttle buses sold to San Diego International Airport. The challenge now for John Walsh, founder and CEO, is not in finding new customers, but in figuring out how to manufacture enough vehicles to satisfy demand. Endera already has orders for 2, 000 EVs, worth $400 million — and Walsh, 28, is determined to build them without having to reinvent the proverbial wheel. "Supply chain is a major challenge in the EV industry," he says. "Batteries, chassis, computer chips, and labor are in a shortage." He's already found a workaround, forging close relationships with Octillion, maker of EV battery packs, and Pritchard Ford, one of the nation's largest Ford dealers. And this year Endera acquired Metro Titan, an Ohio-based maker of light trucks and buses, which has a 250, 000 square foot factory and sources chassis from Ford and Chevy. Walsh expects to deliver 170 vehicles in 2022 (many to the Atlantic City Jitney Association), and scale from there. Aside from having Endera's name on the front, their electric vans, jitneys and delivery trucks look near indistinguishable to gas guzzlers
