Agriculture Minister reveals plan to grow 50 thousand hectares of wheat

NNA - Agriculture Minister Abbas Hajj Hassan on Tuesday revealed that his ministry has drawn up a plan to grow tens of thousands of hectares of wheat in the north, the south, and Bekaa, stressing there is no grain crisis in Lebanon.

 

"The Ministry of Agriculture has prepared a wheat production plan over an area of 50,000 hectares in Akkar, Marjeyoun, and Bekaa," Hajj Hassan told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.

"There is no wheat crisis in Lebanon; we are capable of planting soft and hard wheat," he said.

The Minister also confirmed that the basic food basket is available.
