Mikati meets Minister of Energy, FAO Regional Director, and Abu-Ghazaleh

NNA - Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Thursday met at the Grand Serail with Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayad. 

In the wake of the meeting, the Minister of Energy indicated that he had followed up with the Prime Minister on the Cabinet’s fresh decision approving a national plan for a sustainable electricity sector in Lebanon, as well as on the gas renting dossier and its requirements and preparations for tariff-related issues. 

“We’ve also discussed the financial support that Electricité du Liban needs to maintain and rehabilitate stations to extract gas and benefit from the Iraqi fuel. This financial support is an integral part of the electricity plan that has been approved,” Fayad added. 

The Prime Minister then met with FAO Regional Head, Abdel Hakim El Waer, who visited him with an accompanying delegation. 

The meeting reportedly focused on food security and the organization's new plan to help Lebanon, in addition to presenting FAO's programs for innovative agriculture and rural development.

Mikati then welcomed the Chairman of "Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Organization", Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, who expressed utter satisfaction at signing a number of ready-made agreements with Lebanon. 

“The agreements include projects in the field of education, capacity building, and human development, and we will implement
