This Lebanese Artist Is Creating Beautiful Sustainable Wearables Inspired By Lebanon’s Heritage

Lebanese artist Timi Hayek is using all her innate creativity to create illustrations infused with Lebanon’s heritage and also mythology and on giclée prints, silk scarves, and dresses from her boutique in Beirut.

Her work is rooted in mythological and artistic research, while also focusing on preserving Lebanon’s cultural heritage and stunning nature.

Hayek uses her artistic talent to draw collections by herself, especially designing scarves and dresses, which are sewn by hand.

As a way to go against the fast-paced fashion, Hayek employs her hands to make sustainable and organic designs and pieces of art, as well as delicate silk materials which are beautifully stitched together.

In 2012, Timi Hayek studied and received a BA in Fashion Print at Central Saint Martins in London, after she worked with prestigious brands such as Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton in Paris, as well as with McQ for Alexander McQueen in London.

During her studies at Central Saint Martins, Hayek won the Liberty Art Fabrics Award, where her winning design was sold at Liberty & Co, a well-known British department store.

In 2016, Hayek exhibited, with Starch, at the International Fashion Showcase held at the Somerset House in London, where she was highly praised as the best designer.
