Oman reports increase in natural gas consumption across various sectors

The Sultanate of Oman has witnessed a significant rise in both domestic production and import of natural gas.

Industrial endeavors utilized approximately 31 billion and 638 million cubic meters of natural gas by the end of 2023.

Breaking down the usage patterns, natural gas allocations for oil fields amounted to 13 billion 252 million 800 thousand cubic meters, while power generation stations utilized 8 billion 773 million 800 thousand cubic meters.

Additionally, industrial areas consumed 259 million 700 thousand cubic meters of natural gas during the same period. Of notable significance is the distribution between non-associated and associated production of natural gas.

Non-associated production, inclusive of imports, stood at 42 billion and 942 million cubic meters, while associated production accounted for 10 billion and 983 million cubic meters.
