Oman’s pavilion at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) has drawn the attention of many visitors with its presentation on the country’s experience in shifting from conventional energy to clean energyDubai, UAE – Oman’s pavilion at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) has drawn the attention of many visitors with its presentation on the country’s experience in shifting from conventional energy to clean energy.

In the Blue Zone of Expo City Dubai – the area bustling with visitors, government officials and private-sector representatives – a frankincense tree adorns the entrance to the pavilion of Oman.

Frankincense tree is Oman’s most cherished tree, as it is indigenous to this land; carries economic, historical and medical significance; and symbolises sustainability.

By participating in the COP28 discussions, the sultanate proposes to find practical and sustainable solutions to climate change through clear strategies and policies, as the sultanate takes several initiatives in line with its strategic vision 2050, which include establishment of the Oman Sustainability Centre.

Following it energy transition strategy, Oman is concurrently implementing several renewable energy and hydrogen projects.
