Oman’s natural gas production rises by 4.9%

Muscat: The total domestic production of natural gas in Oman increased by 4.9 percent to reach 49.444 billion cubic metres by the end of November 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, when the output was about 47.113 billion cubic metres.

Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that industrial projects accounted for 58.4 percent of natural gas at 28.89 billion cubic metres in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of November 2023.

The total use of natural gas for oil fields reached 12.36 billion cubic metres, power generation stations at 7.94 billion cubic metres and the industrial sector reached 240.10 million cubic metres, the NCSI data revealed.

It is noteworthy that the non-associated production of natural gas, including imports, amounted to 39.29 billion cubic metres, while the associated production amounted to 10.14 billion cubic metres.
