‘Home Grown’ initiative launched to establish culture of sustainability, production – The Peninsula

Doha: Minister of Social Development and Family H E Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad and Chairperson of Qatar Museums H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani launched the “Home Grown” initiative yesterday with an exhibition at the Wadi Msheireb Station and M7 building in Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The “Home Grown” initiative, which originated from home for diversified production, aims to establish a culture of sustainability, shift individuals from consumption to production, and develop the productive families system within Qatar in order to enhance the efficiency of families, raise their productivity, and develop their skills by providing integrated services.

This is starting from the process of producing ideas to facilitating access to markets, in addition to changing the negative stereotype associated with productive families by launching this initiative under a new name and an attractive visual identity.

The production is divided between food, textile and craft products. This initiative came to change the name from productive families to a new name that keeps pace with the development and progress witnessed by the local market.

This initiative was launched at the first point of sale, which was launched in conjunction with the kick-off of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
