Kahramaa launches National Water Control Centre – The Peninsula

Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) yesterday launched the National Water Control Centre, after completing its renovation and development work, and announced establishing the National Emergency Control Centre.

The launch came within the framework of the long-term strategic plan 2030 of the corporation to reaffirm its full readiness to host the most prominent sporting event in the region and around the globe — the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Kahramaa stressed its keenness to sign contracts with major international companies to modernise the basic infrastructure of the National Water Control Centre, as well as the establishment of the National Emergency Control Centre, as the project was awarded to the Japanese Yokogawa Electric Corporation.

The two centres are equipped with the latest water network management software, which serves the current needs and the expected future expansion of the country’s water network.

The corporation emphasized its great keenness to ensure that the two centres are provided with the latest global cybersecurity technologies, which meet the requirements of international and national standards for cybersecurity.
