QACC to embark on major upgrade to enlarge operations by 2026 – The Peninsula

Doha: Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC), the aircraft catering subsidiary of Qatar Airways Group, is set to embark on a major upgrade to enlarge the operations area and increase the meal production capacity.

“By March 2026, QACC is set to embark on a major upgrade; the QACC 2.0, a venture designed to enlarge the operations area and increase the meal production capacity up to 500,000 meals due to the rapid and steady growth of the airline,” Qatar Airways Group Annual Report 2021-2022 reveals.

Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) is an award-winning, inflight catering facility located at Hamad International Airport, the hub of Qatar Airways.

According to report, currently QACC has the capacity to produce over 175,000 meals per day in its state-of-the-art facility measuring 69,000 sqm, and growing.

“During the 2021/2022 financial year, QACC achieved our one-year sustainability target by recycling more than one million kilogrammes of plastic waste and donating more than 100,000 pieces of goods and surplus food supplies to people in need across the globe.

“The group’s catering company is working hard to decrease waste generation and improve rates of waste diversion from landfill,” it adds.
