QU-CBE participates in Qatar Sustainability Week

Qatar University’s College of Business and Economics (QU-CBE) participated in the recent Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW), organised by Earthna, a Qatar Foundation partner, with the “Consume Responsibly” Challenge.

The main goal of the competition was to get students to think about a problem or idea related to sustainable behaviour, and suggest different solutions.

They were asked to submit creative posters (digital images) with innovative suggestions and solutions, and propose a thorough action plan to put their ideas into practice.

The competition was split into seven main themes: waste management, green marketing, green accounting, food sustainability, e-financial business, economic sustainability, and digital business strategies.

More than 300 students presented over 117 projects covering the different themes.

The competition was organised under the sponsorship of the Abu Issa Holding Company, and more specifically Blue Salon stores.

Abu Issa Holding Company chairman Ashraf Abu Issa presented the winners with certificates of appreciation and souvenirs related to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Issa said that he is proud of the ideas submitted by the students, adding that this indicates the knowledge and maturity of the QU-CBE students.

He also assured that Blue Salon is committed to support any university initiative towards sustainability.
