Aramco says new gas reserves found in Jafurah field

The additional confirmed quantities reached 15 trillion standard cubic feet of gas and 2 billion barrels of condensate, state-run Saudi News Agency (SPA) reported, citing the minister.

Reserves at Jafurah reached 229 trillion cubic feet of gas and 75 billion barrels of condensates, Prince Abdulaziz said. 

A reputed independent consulting company, specialised in authenticating resources and proven reserves, has approved the estimates, he added.

Last month, Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, awarded a $3.3 billion contract to a joint venture between Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas and China’s Sinopec Engineering Group to develop new natural gas liquids fractionation facilities in Saudi Arabia.
