Biden Responds to ‘Putin’s Price Hike at the Pump’ With Plan to Release Oil

President Joe Biden is set to announce the release of 15 million barrels of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve in his push to reduce gas prices, according to a White House press release Tuesday.

The additional fuel, expected to be delivered in December, would complete the 180-million-barrel drawdown that Biden first announced in the spring, read the release. The announcement is expected Wednesday.

The White House added that the president is "committed to doing everything in his power to respond to Putin's Price Hike at the pump," and noted that gas prices had dropped at the fastest rate in over a decade this summer.
