‎Hydrocarbons to remain important to global needs for coming decades: Crown Prince

Hydrocarbons will remain important to meet global needs for decades to come, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said today, Dec. 9 in his opening address at the 43rd Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit, held in Riyadh.

Realizing the importance of sustainable development and environment preservation, Saudi Arabia will continue joint action to face climate change and find solutions for its problems.

The Kingdom took several measures in this regard. It launched the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI), Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) and Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) concept, along with other programs to develop sustainable energy sources.

The Gulf countries will remain a reliable and safe energy supplier for the world.

Saudi Arabia intends to present a second phase of a new vision to enhance the GCC action, the Crown Prince added.
