Oman’s Abraj Energy Services announced a significant partnership with companies in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on Saturday. 

Abraj signed a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabian Chevron and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company. The trio will work together on drilling and oil extraction for five years. They will specifically build three drilling platforms in the Wafra oil field in southern Kuwait, according to a press release. 

Abraj CEO Saif Al Hamhami said the deal demonstrates their “commitment to expand our regional footprint in the Middle East and North Africa region.” 

Abraj is wholly owned by the government of Oman’s energy firm OQ. Chevron is an American energy company that operates in Saudi Arabia, among other places, while the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company is owned by the government of Kuwait.
