Saudi SWCC Plans to Conclude Agreements in Mining at Future Minerals Forum

The Saudi Saline Water Conversion Corp (SWCC) is set to sign several agreements during the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in Riyadh that will kick off on Wednesday.

The water desalination company is seeking to partner with various local and global companies and academic institutions in mining.

SWCC envisions substantial investments in regional brine mining from desalination systems, projected to reach $2.1 billion by 2030, with expected revenues amounting to $266 million. In the same year, it anticipates contributing $400 million to the domestic GDP.

SWCC is set to enter into joint ventures with global and local entities, such as China’s Ningxia TB, the JSG Alliance, and the Saudi Investment Recycling Co., focusing on the collaborative development of investment opportunities, enhancing local content, and empowering national industries.

Manufacturing chain

The agreements will maximize brine mining from desalination systems, which support the manufacturing chain and explore ways to benefit from growth opportunities in end-use markets.

The Future Minerals Forum, held under the patronage of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, will position SWCC as a key strategic sponsor to showcase its initiatives, projects, and breakthrough technologies in salt-reject mining and mineral extraction.
