DEWA affirms its commitment in supporting Dubai’s Net-zero emission goal

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has emphasized its pioneering role in supporting national and international efforts in environmental sustainability to ensure a greener world for generations to come.

Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA said this in his remarks on the occasion of World Environment Day 2022.

DEWA “DEWA plays a pioneering role in supporting national and international efforts in environmental sustainability to ensure a greener world for generations to come. This is in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership to make Dubai a sustainable city according to the highest international standards. DEWA plays a pivotal role in Dubai’s strategies to reduce carbon emissions. Net carbon emissions in Dubai dropped by 22 percent in 2019 and 33 percent in 2020, exceeding the target of Dubai Carbon Abatement Strategy 2021 by more than double. The strategy aimed to reduce carbon emissions by 16 percent in 2021.”
