Dubai hospital wins key certification for green building standards

Fakeeh University Hospital, a key healthcare facility and the first teaching hospital in Dubai, has won the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for its implementation of the internationally-recognised green building specifications and standards. The LEED certification is designated by the US Green Building Council and is the most used green building rating system in the world. It serves as a testament to the hospital's commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovationm, said the hospital in a statement. As a technology-driven and environmentally friendly facility, Fakeeh University Hospital incorporates sophisticated efficiency measures to ensure innovative and structured energy models across the hospital's departments, said the statement. To ensure an outstanding quality building service, the hospital is built with highly insulated mass walls and roofs, with user-friendly lighting controls for the internal and external lighting systems. It also incorporates top-notch building management systems to provide fully automated controls for the HVAC and lighting systems, it added.
